Homemade Lemonade

Best served straight from the fridge on hot day – the only thing hard about this homemade lemonade recipe for kids is all the juicing you need to do!  Remember to always follow the Kitchen Monsters Code when you’re in the kitchen!

Ingredients: Juice of 6 – 8 lemons (about a cups worth), 1 x cup x sugar, 4 cups x water, plenty of ice
Special Equipment: Knife, chopping board, juicer, measuring cup, small suacepan, jug and glasses to serve

Homemade Lemonade RecipeCarefully chop the lemons in half and juice them until you have a full cups worth
Transfer into the saucepan, add the sugar and heat gently on the hob until the sugar has dissolved
Pour into the jug, add the water and your ice and stir well
Add some slices of lemon to the jug to decorate
Serve and enjoy!

Get the Kids Involved: Counting out the lemons, juicing them, measuring the sugar and water, stirring the lemonade, cleaning up after!

Kitchen Monster Tip:  Roll the lemons along a table top before cutting – this will help release more of the juice

Spiced Apple Punch

Christmas is a time for celebrations so knock up a batch of this tasty apple punch recipe for kids.  Remember to always follow the Kitchen Monsters Code when you’re in the kitchen!

Ingredients: 800ml x apple juice, 200ml x water, 100g x sugar, 1 x lemon, 1 x orange, 2 x sticks cinnamon, 1/2 tsp x ground nutmeg
Special Equipment: Saucepan, measuring cup, chopping board, knife

Spiced Apple PunchQuarter the lemon and orange and add them to the saucepan with all the other ingredients and heat gently for about 10 minutes
Carefully pour into a serving jug and serve while still warm

Kitchen Monster Tip:  This is lovely for a cold winter’s night

Sparkling Cranberry Punch

You don’t need to stick to the same old juice every time.  If it’s a special occasion try our Sparkling Cranberry Punch recipe for kids.  Remember to always follow the Kitchen Monsters Code when you’re in the kitchen!

Ingredients: 1 x cup cranberries, 1 x cup sugar, 1.5 x cups water, 750ml x sprite/7up, 1 x lemon
Special Equipment: Saucepan, measuring cup, chopping board, knife

Sparkling Cranberry PunchAdd the cranberries, sugar and water to the sauce pan and boil gently for about 10  minutes
Pour into a large jug and top up with the sprite
Slice up a lemon and add it too, along with some ice cubes
Serve and enjoy!

Kitchen Monster Tip:  You can heat he cranberry mix and then store in the fridge until ready to add the sprite and serve

Banana Breakfast Blend

A delicious start to the day, the oats and banana will give you energy to jump about while the calcium in the milk helps keep your bones strong!  Remember to always follow the Kitchen Monsters Code when you’re in the kitchen!
Ingredients: 1 x banana, 150ml milk, 1 x tbsp oats, 1 x tsp honey
Special Equipment: Blender
Peel the banana and break it up in the blender jug
Add the oats, milk and honey
Blend until smooth
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Kitchen Monster Tip: Varying the amount of oats or milk will make the blend thicker or smoother
